Launcher — Multi-Firmware Bootloader for ESP32 Devices

A firmware launcher that stores multiple firmware images on SD card and lets you switch between them on boot — run Bruce, Marauder, and other firmwares on the same device without reflashing.

Boards:ESP32-S3
Firmware:ArduinoPlatformIO
Use Cases:EducationPortable Device

Overview

Launcher (1,300+ GitHub stars) solves a common pain point for ESP32 multi-tool enthusiasts: wanting to run multiple firmwares (Bruce, Marauder, CapibaraZero, etc.) on the same device without reflashing every time. It acts as a bootloader that stores multiple firmware images on an SD card and presents a menu at boot to select which one to run.

Key Features

  • Multi-Firmware Boot Menu: Store multiple firmware .bin files on SD card, select at startup
  • Web Flasher: Built-in web-based flasher for initial installation — no development tools needed
  • Firmware Catalog: Browse and download popular firmwares directly from within the Launcher
  • SD Card Management: Manage firmware files on the SD card via the device's display and controls
  • Quick Switch: Reboot and select a different firmware in seconds
  • Wide Board Support: Supports T-Embed CC1101, T-Deck, M5Stack Cardputer, and many more

Getting Started

Flash Launcher via the web flasher at the project's website. Insert an SD card and use the catalog to download firmware images (Bruce, Marauder, etc.) directly to the card. On each boot, Launcher presents a menu — scroll and select which firmware to run. To switch, simply reboot and pick a different one.

Why This Project

Without Launcher, switching between Bruce and Marauder requires connecting to a computer and reflashing — a tedious process. Launcher makes it instant: reboot, tap, and you're running a different firmware. For security researchers and hobbyists who use multiple tools, this is essential. The web flasher and built-in catalog make the entire setup process trivially easy.
