Overview

Acid Drop (142+ GitHub stars) is a unique T-Deck firmware that bridges the gap between mesh communications and internet hacking tools. It is the only T-Deck firmware that includes a full IRC client with color and highlight support alongside Meshtastic integration, creating a dual-mode communicator that works both on the internet and off-grid LoRa mesh.

Key Features

  • IRC Client: Full-featured IRC client with color rendering, nickname highlighting, and channel management — type on the QWERTY keyboard just like a classic IRC terminal
  • Meshtastic Integration: Send and receive Meshtastic mesh messages alongside IRC
  • Gotify Notifications: Receive push notifications from a self-hosted Gotify server
  • WiFi Tools: Network scanning, wardriving capabilities (planned), and local network probing
  • Status Bar: Battery level, WiFi signal, time, and connection status at a glance
  • Planned Features: Evil portal AP, SSH client, and network reconnaissance tools

Getting Started

Clone the repository and build with PlatformIO for the T-Deck target. Configure your IRC server, Meshtastic settings, and WiFi credentials in the configuration file. Flash and boot into a terminal-style interface with keyboard-driven navigation.

Why This Project

Acid Drop fills a unique niche — it's the only T-Deck firmware focused on internet communications (IRC) combined with mesh networking. For ham radio operators and hackers who live on IRC, having a pocket-sized IRC terminal that also does Meshtastic is a compelling combination. The active community on IRC (#comms on irc.supernets.org) drives ongoing development.
