LILYGO T4 S3

Overview

The T4 S3 is a premium ESP32-S3 development board built around a vibrant 2.41-inch SPI RGB AMOLED display. With an active area of 36.2×48.96mm and a resolution of 450x600 pixels, this display offers crisp, high-brightness visuals at 800 cd/m², making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor-visible applications.

The board is powered by the ESP32-S3R8 module, offering 16MB of flash and 8MB of PSRAM for data-intensive applications. The microSD card slot allows for external storage expansion. Built-in Boot, Reset, and Micro SD button access is also provided.

Multiple hardware variants are available: Basic (H678), With Shell Soldered Female Pin (H711), With Shell Soldered Pin (H724), and a Shield-only version (H731), with regional warehouse options for Germany, United States, and China.

Firmware Compatibility

The T4 S3 supports Arduino IDE, PlatformIO, and MicroPython. Programming can be done in C, C++, and Lua. The official LILYGO AMOLED Series GitHub repository provides example sketches for display rendering, UI frameworks, and sensor integration.

Flashing Guide

1. Install Arduino IDE or PlatformIO with ESP32-S3 board support
2. Clone the LilyGo-AMOLED-Series repository for display drivers
3. Connect via USB Type-C
4. Select "ESP32S3 Dev Module" with 16MB flash and 8MB PSRAM OPI settings
5. Upload your sketch — hold Boot button if needed for download mode
