Overview

The LILYGO T-LoRa Pager Meshtastic is a pager-style handheld device designed for Meshtastic mesh networking with an impressive hardware feature set. It combines a 2.33-inch display (222x480 resolution), a QWERTY keyboard, encoder, and keypad for intuitive text-based communication in the field.

The device uses the LR1121 multi-band transceiver, which supports both sub-GHz frequencies (433/868/915 MHz) and 2.4GHz LoRa operation, providing the flexibility to join different regional Meshtastic networks. Onboard GPS via the U-blox MIA-M10Q enables accurate positioning and map features in Meshtastic. The BHI260AP AI-supported IMU provides advanced motion sensing, while the ES8311 audio codec adds microphone, speaker, and headphone capabilities for voice messaging support.

With 16MB Flash and 8MB PSRAM on the ESP32-S3, the T-LoRa Pager has ample resources for the Meshtastic stack plus user interface code. TF card slot and GPIO expansion connectors allow further customization. The RTC ensures accurate timekeeping even when disconnected from GPS.

Firmware Compatibility

  • Meshtastic — Primary firmware for off-grid LoRa mesh networking with full keyboard and GPS support.
  • Arduino — Custom firmware using the ESP32 Arduino core and RadioLib for LR1121.
  • ESP-IDF — Full Espressif SDK support.
