TinkerRTK on Hackaday.io
Hackaday.io project page for TinkerRTK, documenting the open-source modular RTK GPS system with SkyTraq PX1105R receiver and ESP32-S3, featuring build logs, schematics, and community discussion.
Overview
The TinkerRTK project on Hackaday.io serves as the community hub for Tinkerbug Robotics' open-source RTK GPS platform. Created by Christian Pedersen, this project page documents the development and capabilities of the TinkerRTK modular system.
Project Details
TinkerRTK delivers centimeter-level GPS positioning accuracy through Real Time Kinetic (RTK) technology. The system combines a SkyTraq PX1105R L1/L5 GPS receiver with an ESP32-S3 microcontroller, optional LoRa radio, WiFi, and Bluetooth connectivity.
Key Features
- 1 centimeter location accuracy via RTK corrections
- Fully open-source hardware and software
- Built-in dual-core processor with wireless connectivity
- Arduino IDE programming support
- Sample programs for multiple use cases
- USB-C programming interface
- Modular design with expansion boards for LoRa, cellular, battery charging, and display
Modules
- TinkerNav: Base board with GNSS receiver and processors
- TinkerSend LoRa: Long-range radio module (up to 6 km)
- TinkerSend Mobile: 4G LTE cellular module
