LVGL Smart Watch UI for LILYGO T-Encoder Pro
A SquareLine Studio–designed LVGL smart watch demo ported to the LILYGO T-Encoder Pro's AMOLED display, using a lean custom SH8601 display driver and CHSC5816 touch driver — a ready-to-extend firmware template.
Overview
This project ports the SquareLine Studio 1.4.1 Smart Watch Demo to the LILYGO T-Encoder Pro. The T-Encoder Pro features an ESP32-S3, an SH8601-driven AMOLED touchscreen, and a rotary encoder dial. This firmware demonstrates how to drive the display with a lean custom driver (bypassing the heavier Arduino_GFX framework used in LILYGO's official examples) and provides a working LVGL watch UI as a hackable starting point.
Features
- Full SquareLine Studio LVGL watch UI running on the T-Encoder Pro's AMOLED display
- Custom SH8601 display driver and CHSC5816 touch driver included in the sketch directory — no external library installation required for display or touch
- Works with Arduino IDE 2.3.2 and LVGL 8.3.11
- Encoder dial and buzzer left unassigned — ready for customization
- Uses the ESP32-S3 Dev Module target with OPI PSRAM and Huge App partition scheme
Technical Details
Built for the Arduino IDE with ESP32 Arduino boards package 3.0.1. The driver files are bundled directly in the sketch folder for easy portability. LVGL configuration notes are included in the source to correctly set LV_COLOR_16_SWAP, custom memory, and custom tick. This serves as a cleaner alternative to the official LILYGO examples and is the base referenced by the related KamranAghlami/T-Encoder-Pro PlatformIO project.
