BLE Bike Computer for T-RGB Round Display

A Bluetooth bike computer for the LILYGO T-RGB round display, showing live speed, cadence, and heart rate from BLE sensors, with Komoot navigation turn-by-turn hints and SD card data logging.

Boards:ESP32-S3
Firmware:ArduinoPlatformIO
Use Cases:Portable DeviceDisplay & Dashboard

Overview

TRGB-BikeComputer transforms the LILYGO T-RGB's 480×480 round touchscreen into a handlebar-mounted cycling computer. The round form factor closely mimics dedicated cycling head units, making it a natural companion for any ride. The ESP32-S3's dual Bluetooth modes power all sensor communication and navigation integration.

Features

BLE cycling speed and cadence (CSC profile) sensors connect wirelessly, along with heart rate monitors. The Forumslader V5 dynamo hub power meter connects via a BLE gateway for power data. Komoot navigation integration delivers turn-by-turn guidance hints from the companion phone app. All ride data is logged to the SD card and can be reviewed via the built-in web server.

Build Details

Written primarily in C with PlatformIO, using the T-RGB's native SD card and battery charging circuits. The project has 23 GitHub stars and includes data replay functionality for reviewing sessions offline. A web-based console interface lets users configure BLE device addresses and view debug output. Navigation and sensor screens are displayed on the round LVGL/RGB framebuffer display.
