Binary Clock Station for T-Display S3
A polished binary clock for the LILYGO T-Display S3 that shows BCD time as illuminated dot columns with WiFi NTP sync, adjustable brightness, and a decimal overlay toggle.
Overview
Binary Clock Station displays the current time in binary-coded decimal across six vertical dot columns on the LILYGO T-Display S3's 1.9-inch LCD. Each illuminated dot represents a bit value, encoding hours, minutes, and seconds in a format that is both functional and aesthetically striking as a desk accessory.
Features
WiFi-based NTP synchronization keeps the clock accurate, updating every hour. Two hardware buttons control brightness (six levels) and toggle a decimal overlay that prints the conventional HH:MM:SS alongside the binary pattern — useful when showing the clock to someone unfamiliar with binary. The display refreshes every 100ms.
Build Details
Built with PlatformIO and C++. Memory usage is optimized to just 14% RAM and 11% Flash. The MIT-licensed repository includes two demo photographs showing the device in operation. This project from the same author as Weather Micro Station demonstrates the T-Display S3 as an efficient always-on desk clock with minimal power draw.
