GoHeishaMon
Golang port of HeishaMon firmware that runs directly on the Panasonic CZ-TAW1 WiFi adapter, enabling MQTT heat pump control without additional hardware by repurposing the factory WiFi module.
Overview
GoHeishaMon is a Go language reimplementation of the HeishaMon protocol that runs directly on the Panasonic CZ-TAW1 WiFi adapter hardware. Instead of adding a separate HeishaMon PCB, this project repurposes the factory Panasonic WiFi module to provide the same MQTT gateway functionality.
Key Advantages
- No Additional Hardware: Runs on the existing CZ-TAW1 module already installed in many Panasonic Aquarea units
- Native Performance: Compiled Go binary runs efficiently on the CZ-TAW1's Linux-based system
- Full Protocol Support: Implements the same Panasonic serial protocol as the original HeishaMon
- MQTT Integration: Publishes telemetry and accepts commands via MQTT, compatible with Home Assistant, openHAB, Domoticz, and other platforms
How It Works
The CZ-TAW1 is Panasonic's optional WiFi adapter for cloud-based control. GoHeishaMon replaces the factory software with a custom Go binary that communicates with the heat pump over the same serial interface, but routes data to a local MQTT broker instead of Panasonic's cloud.
Compatibility
Works with Panasonic Aquarea H, J, K, and L series heat pumps equipped with the CZ-TAW1 WiFi adapter module.
Community
The project has 65+ GitHub stars and provides a compelling alternative for users who already have a CZ-TAW1 installed and prefer not to add separate hardware.
