Overview

The T-ICM 20948 is a compact 9-axis MEMS motion tracking sensor module from LILYGO based on the ICM-20948 chip. It integrates a 3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer, and 3-axis compass (magnetometer) along with a Digital Motion Processor (DMP) and a digital-output temperature sensor.

The gyroscope supports programmable full-scale ranges of ±250, ±500, ±1000, and ±2000 degrees per second (dps). The accelerometer offers ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g programmable ranges. The compass provides a ±4900 μT measurement range. Communication is supported via 7MHz SPI or 400kHz I2C fast mode, with an auxiliary I2C bus for connecting external sensors through the DMP.

This module is well-suited for gesture recognition, orientation tracking, robotics, and wearable applications. LILYGO provides example code through the T-Display-S3-Pro GitHub repository specifically for this sensor module.
