Overview

WLED Matter Bridge is a Python-based bridge that discovers WLED LED controllers on your local network via mDNS and exposes them as Matter light devices. Since the bridge runs on a separate machine (not on the ESP), it is compatible with both ESP32 and ESP8266 running WLED firmware.

The bridge controls WLED devices via WebSocket and supports RGB, RGBW, CCT, and white device types. It has been tested with Apple HomeKit, Home Assistant, and the Matter testing tool simultaneously.

Deploy via Docker Compose for a one-command setup. A helper script (bridge.py) lets you manually add or remove device IPs at runtime and generate Matter commissioning QR codes. This project makes existing WLED installations instantly compatible with any Matter ecosystem without reflashing firmware.
