ArduinoCore-stm32l0 — Arduino Core for Grasshopper LoRaWAN Boards

An Arduino board support package by GrumpyOldPizza that enables Arduino IDE development for CMWX1ZZABZ-based LoRaWAN devices, including the Grasshopper development board.

Overview

This Arduino core provides a complete development environment for the STM32L082-based Grasshopper and related boards. It includes a native LoRaWAN stack that communicates directly with the SX1276 radio, eliminating the need for AT commands. Sketches are flashed via USB connector, just like standard Arduino boards.

Supported Boards

  • Grasshopper — 18 x 45 mm LoRa/LoRaWAN development board
  • LoRaSensorTile — compact environmental sensor tile
  • Cricket — asset tracker with GNSS

Key Features

  • Native LoRaWAN 1.0.x stack (no AT commands)
  • USB bootloader for easy flashing
  • Low-power mode support (SLEEP, STOP at 1.6 uA, STANDBY at 500 nA)
  • Full GPIO access to all 19 CMWX1ZZABZ pins
  • SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, DAC peripheral support
  • RTC alarm for timed wake-up from deep sleep

Installation

Add the board manager URL to Arduino IDE preferences, then install the STM32L0 boards package from the Board Manager. Select "Grasshopper" as the target board.
