3D Printable Protective Case for VoltLink CP2102N

Community-designed 3D printable enclosure for the VoltLink CP2102N USB serial adapter, featuring access for USB-C and pin headers, secured with M2.5 screws that double as feet.

A community member (GrodanB on Thingiverse) designed a compact 3D printable protective case for the VoltLink CP2102N USB serial adapter. The case protects the exposed PCB during use while maintaining full access to all connectors.

Design Features

  • Full connector access — openings for USB-C port and pin header connections
  • Generous header opening — sized to fit standard 6-pin DuPont connectors without removal
  • Screw-secured assembly — uses M2.5 x 12mm screws (M2.5 x 11mm also works) that thread through the VoltLink's corner mounting holes
  • Built-in feet — the protruding screw heads act as standoffs, keeping the board elevated from the work surface

Printing Notes

  • May require minor post-processing depending on your printer's dimensional accuracy
  • Standard FDM printing with no supports needed
  • The designer recommends checking screw fit before final assembly

Additional Case Options

A second community case design exists for the VoltLink Rev E on Printables, using M2 x 6mm screws that thread directly into the plastic.
