## Description

## Overview

The NanoPi R6S is a compact single-board computer by FriendlyElec designed specifically for high-performance network routing and edge computing. Powered by the Rockchip RK3588S octa-core SoC, it delivers impressive compute power in a small form factor, making it ideal for use as a home router, VPN gateway, or network appliance.

Its standout feature is its triple Ethernet configuration: two 2.5 Gigabit ports and one standard Gigabit port, giving it more bandwidth throughput than most competing SBCs in its class. With 4GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage onboard, the R6S is well-equipped for running OpenWRT, Armbian, or custom Linux distributions without the need for an SD card.

The R6S intentionally omits Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to keep the design compact and focused on wired networking. It runs off a 12V DC barrel connector and is fully supported by Armbian, with active community and vendor firmware available. The companion R6C variant shares the same SoC but uses a different chassis with an additional PCIe slot for expansion.
